Yarn Expo Autumn provides boost to industry with successful offline and online elements
Yarn Expo once again proved its importance to the industry as a vital business hub, and additionally this year as a chance to reconnect and recover both in-person and virtually. As one of the first yarn & fibre industry events to take place since the pandemic outbreak, the fair was widely praised by international and Chinese companies for helping their businesses to make up lost ground. 419 exhibitors from six countries & regions – China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, the US and Vietnam – took part in the fair, with 15,707 visitors sourcing in-person from 23 – 25 September at Shanghai’s National Exhibition and Convention Center.

As international trade shows are gradually getting back on schedule in China, this year’s Yarn Expo Autumn will also open as planned next Wednesday. Yarn Expo Autumn returns in September 2020 to support industry rebound and growth
After hosting a record breaking 543 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, along with over 19,000 visitors from 93 countries and regions in 2019, Yarn Expo Autumn will return to Shanghai from 23 – 25 September 2020. Known within the industry as the leading fair for accessing the promising Chinese and Asian markets, the 2020 autumn edition will provide the perfect platform to help the industry rebound and recover from the worldwide COVID-19 disruption. The fair is expected to occupy 26,000 sqm of exhibition space at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.

Yarn Expo Autumn to offer diverse sourcing, with a record-breaking 542 exhibitors
Yarn Expo Autumn 2019 opens next week, from 25 – 27 September, in hall 8.2 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Covering an area of 26,000 sqm, a record-breaking 542 suppliers from 14 countries and regions will join the show (2018: 501 exhibitors, 14 countries & regions), including new exhibitors from Lithuania, Nepal and Taiwan. The fair will offer yarn & fibre solutions for every sourcing need – with eco-friendly, functional and fashionable options to be found, and a new display area for fancy yarn.
Fancy Yarn Vision: new display area to launch at Yarn Expo
Yarn Expo Autumn 2019 will feature 118 exhibitors in the Fancy Yarn Zone, a 30% increase from the previous year, while launching a new display area, Fancy Yarn Vision, within the zone. Fancy Yarn Vision will be open throughout the three days of the fair, from 25 – 27 September, featuring advanced technologies and products from Chinese and overseas exhibitors. The zone has been gathering momentum in recent editions of Yarn Expo, as the fair has become increasingly recognised for its all-encompassing range of yarn and fibre product categories, from natural to synthetic.
Closing the loop: regenerated and recycled products on offer at Yarn Expo Autumn
Yarn Expo Autumn 2019 will feature a wide array of different yarn and fibre materials, including regenerated and recycled yarn. Sustainably-produced regenerated cellulose fibres are on offer, along with plenty of recycled options that close the loop in the fashion industry. Regenerated yarns and fibres can be found from exhibitors such as Birla, overseas newcomers Else Bornewa (Turkey), Hai Thien Synthetic Fiber (Vietnam) and Henbang Textile Vietnam (Vietnam), as well as domestic exhibitors, from 25 – 27 September 2019.

Yarn Expo Autumn will take place from 25 – 27 September at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), in hall 8.2. In 2018, the show featured a wide range of yarn and fibre products with 501 exhibitors from 14 countries & regions. The fair will be held concurrently with the 25th Autumn Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, in order to maximise exposure within the textile supply chain.
Yarn Expo exhibitors offer a sustainable, traceable starting point for fashion brands
In recent editions of Yarn Expo, new opportunities have been presenting themselves as demand for transparency in the textile supply chain increases. At Yarn Expo Spring 2019, three highlighted exhibitors were selected for in-depth case studies: Birla Cellulose (China), Cotton Council International (USA) and Safilin (France). Each exhibitor gave their opinion on shifting sourcing trends, what needs to be done to achieve sustainability in the textile industry, and how they found entry points into new markets at Yarn Expo.

More exhibitors than ever joined Yarn Expo Autumn 2018, which was held concurrently with ITMA ASIA + CITME from 15 – 17 October at the National Exhibition Convention Centre (Shanghai). 501 suppliers from 14 countries & regions participated, with new countries to the show including France. This international diversification, as well as strong domestic numbers, demonstrated Yarn Expo’s increasing recognition as a top show in the industry. What’s more, almost 80% of exhibitors were returning from successful past editions, showing their support of the fair.

“Going green” a predicted hit at Yarn Expo Autumn
Sustainability is more than an industry trend. By definition, it is a long-lasting key message for development, with more buyers looking to source environmentally-friendly products that are still competitively-priced. The new national government-organised China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in November, has necessitated the need for long-term renovation of halls at the fairground, requiring Yarn Expo Autumn 2018 to be held one month later, and concurrent with ITMA ASIA + CITME, from 15 – 17 October.

Yarn Expo Autumn joins Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics and two other international textile fairs in being held earlier this year. The 27 – 29 September event is expected to attract over 500 exhibitors to Shanghai’s National Exhibition and Convention Center.
